Onconova Therapeutics is developing new Drugs for treating cancer and radiation injury.
Onconova’s anti-cancer Drugs are targeted therapies that exploit differences in cell cycle regulation of normal versus cancer cells. They are designed to address three major problems associated with current cancer medicines by:
* Improving efficacy
* Overcoming drug resistance
* Relieving the burden of toxicity
The Company’s lead radiation protection agent reduces the damaging effects of radiation exposure by enhancing cell survival and DNA repair pathways.
Onconova has three clinical-stage products in Phase I and Phase II trials, several pre-clinical product candidates, more than 100 issued patents, and a focused internal R&D engine.
