2011 Annual Meeting Highlights

  • Scientific Sessions - The Annual Meeting consists of more than 1,000 scientific sessions, roundtables, poster sessions, institutes and panel discussions at which over 5,000 scientific papers will be presented. View the Online Program to see all sessions and events.
  • Opening General Session – Keynote speakers former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle, National Park Service Director Jonathan Jarvis and administrator of the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services AdministrationPamela Hyde will discuss their efforts to create healthy communities in America.
  • Closing General Session - Explore the Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire in its historical context and how the tragedy formed the current landscape for the Federal OSH Act. The session will discuss the connection that workers’ health has with all efforts to promote and protect public health for all. Keynote speakers include Linda Rae Murray, David Michaels, Leo W. Gerard and Darryl Alexander.
  • Public Health Awards Reception and Ceremony - Join your colleagues to recognize the recipients of APHA’s prestigious awards.
