Wayne Pan, MD, MBA, PhD
Wayne brings over 20 years of broad healthcare industry experience from clinical medicine, as a fellowship-trained orthopaedic hand surgeon, to molecular biology basic science research to managed care and health information technology. He received his bachelor’s degree in biology from Johns Hopkins University and completed his MD and PhD degrees concurrently at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York City. He completed his orthopaedic surgery residency at Thomas Jefferson University Hospital and Clinics and continued with a post-graduate clinical fellowship in hand and microsurgery at the Philadelphia Hand Center. After 5 years of clinical practice, Wayne transitioned into administrative medicine, holding positions as Medical Director and Chief Medical Officer at several local San Francisco Bay Area Medicaid managed care plans. Wayne also served as Chief Medical Officer of a small, local San Francisco Bay Area IPA, and is currently the Chief Medical Officer at Pacific Partners Management Services, Inc. After graduating from the Wharton School in 2007, he worked briefly as a management consultant specializing in healthcare at L.E.K. Consulting. Wayne has also been involved with several local healthcare-related web 2.0 start-ups, providing clinical as well as marketing strategy support.
He is on the adjunct faculty of the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, where he teaches the Global Consulting Practicum course.
